Melbourne

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on accomodation in Melbourne? I'm looking for somewhere to stay long term, not too far from the airport (I've heard the traffic is awful in the city) but I'm unfamiliar with the city and I don't know what areas are considered decent places to live for crews. Any help would be great!

Waffs,

I'd recommend places like Pascoe Vale or Sunbury. Pascoe Vale is between the City and the Airport but should only be a 20min drive, good for if you want to be near the City for the nightlife (getting botteled over the head and stabbed for an iPod). Sunbury is a 10min drive north of the Airport and seems to be its own town, not a suburb. Rent is good there too (2beder townhouse averages $200/220/wk), which eats shit over Sydney!

Good luck

I wouldn't worry about being in the CBD. I always stay there when working at Essendon, and it's pretty much against the traffic all the way morning and night.
If you shoot for anywhere near Essendon, you'll have an easy commute.

There are self contained apartments for rent in Moonee Ponds opposite Moonie valley Race Course . They look good ( son lives just down the road , so inspected them ! ) .On the tram for City - about 20 mins , and about 25 mins from International Airport . Google will find them .
