Tuneless Whistling
There is a video of a much closer (believe it or not) near miss between two RAAF F/A-18 Hornets. The underside of one Hornet flashes past with the stab pulled back as far as it could go. I had a copy on the DRN and I have seen it in the public domain but can't seem to find it now.
Trojan - That'd be the one where they reckon the nosecone of the hornet filming went between the vertical stab's of the other?
Classic case of both pilot & nav looking at the green writing and not outside the cockpit. Classic SAP runs like this are, arguably, one of the most dangerous periods of flight where both of the crew are concentrating on the offsets/target to the detriment of all round awareness.
Been there, got the t-shirt  |
pilot and nav or 2 pilots?
2 pilots ("I have control" - ocu sortie?)
Funny - appears to have been pulled from Youtube now!!!
Try BBC News it's on there.
Would I be correct in thinking that whistling is a shock reaction?
Ah what the hell. Look at the date stamp on the first post on this thread. Again, you read it on PPRune first.
Hey, maybe PPRuners should start claiming 'finders fee's or royalties'? Coo, maybe we could fund 558 with the profits? OK, my coats' the green one in the corner. |

:bored: Made the News at Ten last night, aledgedly MOD is "launching an investigation" Well they will have to go back a few years for the IR, hopefully it was fully investigated when it happened. The rear seat Pilot Instructor has since completed a ground tour, Staff College and is now 1/2 way through another ground tour. Must have been a slow news day.

Transmits "Marham 29, Marham 29, on guard" as they pull up to have a look at the Tuc. Unlikely to be OCU I would suggest!
