Carrier Lincoln deploys with female captain
As I read parts of this thread I thought I would mention Joan Hopkins but BEagle beat me to it.
Had she still been with us and 'in the loop', I feel certain she would have shown a 'clean pair of heels' to a great many of the male 'stars' who have graced the promotion boards in the last decade or so and she would probably have have given her female contemporaries a run for their money.
I much liked the fact that she turned down DWRAF, apparently with the scathing comment that it wasn't a proper job!!
Old Duffer

Slightly surprised at the fuss, given that Admiral Nora Tyson took command of the carrier strike group led by the George HW Bush - back in 2011.
