Sandy Parts: er no we didn't ALL get the Queens Jubilee medal and it remains a mystery to me - other than the Treasury didn't want to pay out.
Happy Birthday to the USAF.

He's probably only a youngster Rosevidney - maybe he wasn't even born when HM celebrated her Silver Jubilee - the one you and I remember. And you are right - that medal was awarded very sparingly.

tankertrashnav -not been called that for a while You are right, I was referring to HM's latest Jubilee (surely that 'last' one is always 'the' jubilee?). Aware of the (apparently long-standing..) unrest concerning the '77 gong. I did get a nice sew-on patch for that one in the Scouts though!
Anyhoo, haven't seem much promo re the USAF 70th in the UK? Hope those 'over here' got a few beers somewhere to celebrate.

We didn't get a medal for the parade at Alconbury, for their 21st, in 1968, but we did get mightily well mullered on the "yankee dollar" afterwards.
Happy Birthday USAF
