Is that what they are called!

Vorderman, 56, received the Lennox-Boyd Trophy while meeting “inspiring” young air cadets at RAF Syerston in Nottinghamshire on Tuesday.

The former Countdown host, dressed in a khaki boiler suit topped with a navy beret, is credited with boosting the profile of aviation careers.

A rather better report about AOPA's award of the Lennox-Boyd trophy to Carol may be seen here: https://www.raf.mod.uk/aircadets/new...erospace-camp/

(it's George Done, by the way, not 'Dunn')

More at AOPA's new website https://www.aopa.co.uk/

Also see the Daily Express report: Carol Vorderman flaunts figure in zip-up boiler suit to collect award | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV | Express.co.uk which at least describes the 'boiler suit' as a 'green aviation uniform'.

A slightly less juvenile Volkische Beobachter report than the link kindly provided by devonianflyer, may be viewed here: Carol Vorderman picks up award for work with RAF cadets | Daily Mail Online

I see the Express avoids calling them 'planes' then spoils it all by referring to air crafts

And there was me.....

..... thinking that they were called "gro-bags". Although, once, for an overseas air show we were given tailored suits. How fantastic - they actually fitted! To the extent that an elderly lady walking past our group prodded my bum with her walking stick and when I spun around she smiled and said "Nice ass, son" and walked on. And it was my 52nd birthday - son??.

I am a fan of Ms Vorderman as much as the next man :-)

A few things though:
  • Why is she wearing her VR(T) Tabs on her flying suit ?
  • Why is she wearing a flying suit at all ??
  • Looks like the boots are not issue............... at a CFS Unit too........
  • That Beret needs sorting.............

and is it me or does she look like she's put a bit of weight on around her face ?? (Maybe just that set of pictures though)

What we really want is the Honorary Group Captain in the sort of uniform Suzannah York is famous for almost wearing....
