Alert 5 » Royal Norwegian Air Force has a woman chief - Military Aviation News
Maj. Gen. Tonje Skinnarland has been appointed as chief of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. She had previously served as acting chief. This is the first time a woman had been appointed to this position in the Norwegian Air Force and probably the first time in the world.

Congratulations, Ma'am.
I leave the floor for those who wish to disparage or otherwise denigrate someone who has achieved FAR more than they have

"Auntie Joan" resurrected
The light blue world has changed dramatically, and certain skill sets are (I dare to suggest) more significant than pulling high-G in a fast jet.
The doors to 'sunlight uplands' started during my career, as humble sqn ldr ATCOs with brains were admitted to the world of Int ... allowing aircrew to do the job they were paid a premium to do, to get off their arrses to go and do it, or get out
And Joan (FC) made 1*, and John (ATC) made 2*, and Graham (Regt) made 3*. It's a whole Air Force these days, whilst many of the 'aviators' just get their hours and go civil-air. I find that so sad, but vaguely understandable. Just please don't beat the drum about it's a FJ Air Force, because actually it isn't, and hasn't been for a long time. FJ is just the tool that does the job the others direct
PS: If I said "Overshoot", you would obey
