RAF Aerospace Systems Operator

Hello, i've been researching this role and i have a few question about it.

1) I've seen a lot of people giving stick about ASO, saying that it's boring etc. How true is this ?
2)Do you get to advice aircraft or control them or even work with them in any way.
3)It says you can later progress into WSO, does this mean later on in my career i can fly in helicopters or in other aircraft ?

Thanks guy,
