This guy deserves to be honoured by a knighthood. One of the true inspirational heroes.

Many happy returns of the day, to a man who forged our supremacy in aviation through the 50/60s. Thank you for your incredible service. I look forward to posting the next anniversary.

Birthday Greetings to someone I have never had the privilege to meet, and who is a landmark in British Military aviation.

I went to the AirACES dinner in Chichester 2 weeks ago and he did the after dinner speech - what a privilege! I thanked him for all the work he had done over the years to make "fun" aircraft safe to fly.

He and John Farley are patrons of AirACES - have a look if you live down here, only £10 a year to join and the chance to have a good meal and a chat, then listen to world-class speakers afterwards. There were hundreds of thousands of flying hours in that room!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR! If anyone deserves a knighthood this hero does....

Happy Birthday Sir

I attended his RAE lecture some years ago. Hall packed to the roof, silence during the talk, answered lots of questions, never a disparaging word about others meager efforts to improve the metal.
No inter service rivalry nonsense, Lovely man, an honour to have heard and met you SIR,

They gave the CAA's Andrew Haines an OBE this year. Nuff sed.

Eric, John and many others are effortlessly more deserving in the field of aviation and yet the Establishment seems deaf to the idea.

No doubt the new CDS will be elevated to the Peerage once his tour is done.
