Sea King 132

Thank you for the fly past at Tynemouth today.

Thank you also to all at 202 squadron for watching over us with your friendly growly Sea Kings (Wessex and Whirlwinds too) for the last 50 years.

It was always comforting to hear the distant sound of a pair of Gnomes out at sea at night. It reminded you that as you lay in the safety, warmth and comfort of your bed, out there were good people doing their best to help others. Very humbling.

It all got rather dusty down there by the lifeboat as you flew off.

Good luck to all of you. BZ. Dan.

Thanks also for the flypast on Windermere on Saturday. You may have noticed a fleet of becalmed yachts...couldn't you have got them going? Is this the last outing?

Yes, game over at Boulmer. Both aircraft already in storage at Fleetlands and HLS closed. The only yellow Sea Kings left now are Chivenor (for one more week) and the Falklands till approx end of March.

I haven't followed it closely but I don't think it's anything to do with Bristow. There's at least one thread in Rotorheads which could probably supply the answer.
