There is an alternative to X-factor this Christmas

All proceeds go to RAF Benevolent Fund, ABF The Soldiers' Charity, and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity

Does it even get there?

The cash raised. Does it get to the needy? I have my serious doubts about all this. I mean we have the RBL, Help for Heroes...numerous charities. I even got overtook by a sports car that said something about "sports cars for heroes" once. There are many charities now, many people putting their hands out for more and more..
I just don't get it.
There aren't that many cases of real need now, or at least there shouldn't be (if it was ran straight), in relation to the money that has been raised in the last ten years.
Yep, stand to be shot with shat for saying this.

Hangarshuffle,
The world is full of people who need help, and also people who give up their time to do something to help.
Your statement of
'There aren't that many cases of real need now, or at least there shouldn't be (if it was ran straight), in relation to the money that has been raised in the last ten years' - is total bollocks. Fund raising for just causes by people who care is one thing that makes our country so good.
