NATS AIRSPACE VID

Someone shared this on Facetube:

Quite interesting, although I expect it's already elsewhere on PPRune.

Note the AWACS on orbit over Northumberland after 1:25. (probably controlling the North Sea Military traffic).

Either that or deciding whether to RTB because the TD got beef instead of chicken curry

Wensleydale.....

You do realise you have just ID'd the UK AEW force and given away vital information to the enemy (like T93 the NK spy.......) but then again maybe it will use a different area next time

On a serious note it was an excellent video.

I would think the large orbit at 1:32 is more likely to be AWACS.

Am curious as to what the smaller orbit at 1:25 may be though?
Would also add it looks more Linclonshire (south of Humber) than Northumberland.

The AWACS is there at quite a few times. The orbit areas are in the public domain. (It is still in Northumberland while the small orbit is going on over Lincolnshire. Perhaps a baby pilot is learning "turns" during early GH.

It's quite a fascinating and pleasing thing to watch. I notice that at 00:57 there seems to be military activity to the East of the Northern 'AWACS' track. Or some passengers are having a really rough flight. I wonder how different it would have looked twenty five years ago?

The Lincolnshire circle (3-4 nm across?) has 3 ac initially (watch them depart) then a gap then another reforms the circuit. Looks to be NW of Scampton!

Meanwhile on the western side of the UK ... Some nice 3D plots of what appears to be ACM activity out of RAF Valley ...

Ah, the joys of trying to get a Mil airways crossing outside the 'slots' we were given ... What fun that was!
