SUAS Bulldog colour scheme?

I am trying to establish the colour scheme of a SUAS Bulldog XX707 for a representative model of it. Looking online it currently flies on the civilian register and is in a dark blue and yellow scheme. Trying to find out it if was in these colours in 1995.

Might be worth dropping the OC an eMail ... There are bound to be some pics held by the HQ

However ... after looking at other Squadrons ... information might be 'passed sell by date'

I know for sure it was in the Black & Yellow scheme in June 1996 'cos I just checked the camp video. I can't say for sure whether it was painted that way 1995 or earlier though, sorry.

PM me if you want a link to the vid (in authentic VHS quality)

Thanks for the quick replies!

I have emailed the contact Coffman Starter and thanks Gary - it probably is the same scheme if it was like that in 1996.

SUAS Bulldog colour scheme

Hi KN, I was CFI at SUAS when we changed from Bulldog to Tutor, in Jun 01, and have XX707 in my logbook on various occasions. IIRC the colour scheme in Nutloose's picture is correct. Good luck!

Thanks SnapDragon. I have never seen this scheme before, only the red and white. Looks good in the yellow and black though!

Thanks Nutloose - I had seen that photo and was trying to make sure the aircraft had been in those colours in 1995 and not been changed dramatically.

Cheers All.

I was a QFI at SUAS Jun 92-Jul 95 and am sure that when I left it was still in the red and white.

conspicuity

Many of the EFT Bulldogs were repainted in Black / Yellow after conspicuity trails that led to almost all Training airframes being painted black e.g. Hawk T1, Tucano, Domnie, Squirrel etc.

When Huntings arrived and JEFTS began, the T67s were white. After various trials Yellow uppers and black undersides were introduced.

The Bombardier/VT/Grob Tutor was always white apart from display examples which had additional blue stripes and underside roundel. This scheme was reviewed after the collisions of 2009.

Variations on the Black/Yellow scheme has also featured on UK Police helicopters and RAAF and RNAF basic trainers:

The RAAF CT-4's were actually very dark green and yellow not black save the antiglare bit...Ronnie went on to orange/white afterwards..

KN - reckon so. On the other hand it's nearly 20 years ago!

Thanks Delta Hotel - you were right, she was in red/white in mid 1995.

I am trying to get a representative model made for my brother who soloed XX707 back then (for his 40th present) and was trying to avoid asking him and give the game away. However I had to ask in the end as it was 50/50.

Thanks all for your help and contributions. The company I am using will paint and detail the model to order including the registration etc.
