Sub Hunting in Sweden

I'm way out of date on this sort of thing. What are the practical aspects of finding a sub sneaking around Swedish shallow waters? What is the Swedish anti sub capability like, And what do the Russkis still have intheir inventory to do sneaky stuff like this?

The Russkies still have these puppies laid up in their reserve fleet, I'd be interested to know their current status.

I don't know of anything else in the mini (ish) sub size that they have available to them for this type of shennanigans.

There has been comment that it is likely to be one (or more I suppose) of the Triton-NN swimmer delivery type boat which is fully submersible. I wouldn't class that as a submarine, and therefore, I have a hard time believing that the crews haven't swum out, abandoning a broken craft, back to the suspected mothership via another Triton-NN sent to pick them up. Either that or their air ran out a couple of days ago. Could be too Tom Clancy tho...

Would love to know what made tracked wheel marks on the sea bed outside Swedish Harbors back in the day!

I seem to remember a Soviet submarine running itself aground in Swedish waters in the 1980s.

If it was in trouble they probably ditched it , landed, picked up by "a friend" and are sitting in Stockholm having a few beers before getting the booze cruise to Helsinki and a nice train ride home

Apparently the twentieth "submarine incident" in Swedish waters since the 1960s:

You may need to ask the Americans rather than the Russians to get your answer.
The Germans were there too but not with tracks from memory.

Yes - please do tell more... that is very interesting... this thread seems to explain a little more:
http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/foru...?topic=10602.0
I can't see a lot of the links due to the frikkin' firewall here at work (what, on Pprune on The Man's dime - me - never!).
But one at the bottom makes reference to tracked crawlers - makes sense.
Edited to add:
A bit more trawling on a quiet Friday. It would seem as Barnstormer says that the Germans indeed did have plans and/or had built something like this - see:
http://strangevehicles.greyfalcon.us...0SEETEUFEL.htm
and Google books here:
