Vice Admiral Sir Edward Anson KCB RN

Aviators (and others) of many backgrounds will be deeply saddened but will wish to know that Sir Ted passed away this week. He was, of course, the very last Captain of the very last proper RN aircraft carrier in 1977-78.
I can find no official notification on-line, but there is a summary of his life and career here:
Vice Admiral Sir Edward Anson KCB - Art prints and originals signed by Vice Admiral Sir Edward Anson KCB
Any inaccuracies in his details above are unintentional.

RIP

Related to Admiral George Anson who had various ships named after him, including the King George V class battleship of WW2 and an Astute class submarine.

Sir Ted

He invited me to his home near Yeovilton a few years ago to sign our Buccaneer prints.
Such a kind and welcoming gentleman. I shall always be grateful for the time he afforded me.
RIP Sir Ted
