Meteor PR19; was it real?

Just read an intriguing article at U-2A Operations RAE | Farnborough-aviation-Group purporting to describe the development and use of the above and which rivalled the U2 in all aspects except range.
I can't believe that I somehow missed knowing about this aircraft which supposedly wasn't retired until 1985, especially as I worked at Farnborough from 1974 to 2008 so is the story 'tongue in cheek' or did it really exist?
NB Yes it clearly says Meteor not Canberra.

Read the last couple of paragraphs and the story is unveiled as fiction.

My fault, I stopped reading where the author started talking about building a model of it! That'll teach me.
