Smile Still in? Did you know....

That you can now check your payslip via the Defence Gateway:

http://www.defencegateway.mod.uk/

Don't have an account apply for one here:

https://sts.defencegateway.mod.uk/register.aspx

Must admit I found it by accident, no publicity about it that I've seen. I guess it falls into the "if we tell you about it you'll want to use it"

Thanks very much - I haven't heard of this either - ideal for those of us who do not have regular access to JPA.

Interesting to see that both serving and retired British Army personnel can access the Defence Gateway, but seemingly retired Royal Air Force/Navy/Marines cannot?

Diginagain,

I laughed out loud and I'll still be chuckling at that when my pension hits my bank account next week!

hold your chuckles until it is there - Xafinity managed to 'lose' 2 of my payments when they typed in my new bank sort code. It includes the digits '01' which apparently their system took as '1'.....Then, when they caught up (after I rang them), they paid in twice in one month and therefore took the wrong tax out. Luckily too little rather than too much. Moral is - keep a beady eye on payments, especially after changing bank accounts. On the upside - they are very nice people to speak to

GGII,

Thanks for your post. As I'm OOA and do not have access to JPA it does exactly what it says on the tin. So much so, I've spotted a huge mistake and now the system needs to pay me a lot of LSA.

So nice to be able to access stuff that I haven't needed since I left 18 years ago.

Should be in today, what with the bank holiday on Monday 25th.

Wouldn't mind being able to access it in the future though (are ex RAF & RN not worthy?), once my pension increases on reaching 55. They screwed up the first (lump sum) payment to the tune of several £,000, so I don't entirely trust them when it comes to adjustments.

SP and WW,

It's astonishing that something so relatively simple should ever go wrong. Nothing changes till you're 55 and then you just apply the appropriate inflationary rise. The tentacles of MoDs incompetence seem destined to follow us to the grave!

From the DG website:
The Defence Gateway is built and maintained by Army Information Services.
Now perhaps there may be a clue in there somewhere.
