Lovely ... nice to see that again.
So, the aircraft is "F" of 60 Sqn, and the Nav has 64 Sqn markings on his helmet. I guess the crews shared duties on detachment from Tengah.

During Konfrontasi 64 reinforced 60, and the aircraft operated effectively as a single Squadron.
Our Selangor Pewter beer mugs were all labelled Borneo Jet Force, but with the 60Sqn crest.
Now the new Airfix kit in 60 markings will add to the dusting clutter on the sideboard, alongside the 20Sqn. Hunter 9..

Javelin film Mission 66
I believe this film was made by Flt.Lt Bert Foley, a navigator on 60 Squadron. It is certainly his voice pretending to be ATC and it maybe that he was filming the air shots from the formating aircraft.
I also believe the film was entered and won a families competition.

In 1966 my father ( Flt lt. WDS Waddington) was based in RAAF Butterworth ( Malaysia ). This film was made for a local competition, which they won, much to the frustration of the other entrants who complained about the unfair advantage they had. Not everyone has access to a Jet Fighter..
My Father is the pilot shown at the beginning & end of the film ( reading "the" magazine ). He flew the plane you are watching in the film. The Navigator is Paul Woodward. Filming was done by Bert Foley - Navigator in the 2nd Javelin, which was flown by Gerry Clarke. I'm afraid I have no idea who the ground crew are. The unidentified plane they are sent to identify is an Avro Vulcan. According to dads log book, the film shots were taken on 2nd 3rd & 7th Feb 1966. The Vulcan shots done on 7th Feb. I appologize for the sound quality. I'll see if I can improve it.
Anyway enjoy the film & the amazing Javelin Roll at the end

Was that right?It was a scramble and the groundcrew were seconds behind the aircrew?!!!!Does anyone have a photo of the Oerlikin gun that the transit flight manned each morning?Believe it was a gift from the navy,well it was painted grey!!

I may have heard them....
from my cot as a 1 year old baby on the base, my dad was a Chief Tech with the Bloodhound detachment there at that time, I spent the first 1 1/2 years of my life at butterworth.
Mum and Dad still go on about it now as the best time of their lives
