I was only in his company for 4 months. But what a 4 months.

His dealings with stroppy Adminer's, over the phone, were a work of art.

A sad day.

Respect.

Sad news, a lovely bloke.

I was on the 84th Airborne Cavalry with Mel

Crew room rumour about his AFC award was that when the TV people included his exploits in one of those "999 Emergency" type programs, they couldn't get a professional stuntman to do what he did. I believe he had to persuade the remaining ship's crew to jump from the burning tanker into the oggin, by demonstration. Twice. There must be a clip out there.

RIP Mel.

Info needed

HI,
I have joined this forum in the hope of obtaining some information about mel, for a very dear friend of mine who only found out some few weeks ago that Mel had passed.
Is there someone that can pm me or send me email details and I can fill you in.
Many thanks
