The RAF Finningley Open Day temporary telephone directory in the 1970s didn't have a SPO, but it did have an

Officer i/c Temporary Erections.

Wish I had photocopied it.

Scruffy win today, Mrs LB underimpressed, despite copious libations before and during.

LB ... Just before the National Anthems ... the shot of the young children wearing their new rugby shirts ... then there was a cut to a view with said uniformed Pilot kneeling at the foot of the centre shirt flag festooned on the pitch. I'll try and do a screen grab tomorrow

Am busy today, mailing those small packs of paper tissues to my English pals, so that they are well equipped to cry their eyes out (again) in Cardiff. Come on Wales, all we Celts are with you!

CS: thank you for screen grab but I find my attention wandering to the singer, and I cannot for the life of me understand why.

I think I will go and stand barefoot on a cold surface, as Baden-Powell advised.

England were woeful in stark contrast to their last 3 matches, yet they still beat an upbeat and developing Italian side. This will hopefully act as a stark reminder that they cannot assume tries will come to them and actually have to work for them. This result could act as a very useful kick up the 'r'se.

England will win on Saturday.

Milo, Sidevalve - many thanks for the links!

Pity only the Ireland-France game was worth watching!
