Tornado's over EGSH
Just a big thank you to the Crew's of the two tonkas who flew over Norwich Airport on the 31/01/2013.
Please feel free to do it more often, so I can turn from a mature(ish) 20 (nearly 21) year old - to a 10 year old

Writing from a mobile device, it auto corrects and I was having a few problems trying to change.
I honestly didn't realise I was being monitored for grammar.
Please don't see this as snotty, but I was only trying to show my appreciation towards the 'crews' who flew over Norwich.
This is one of the many reasons I try and withhold from writing anything as most of the time you are criticised for spelling errors (which were my fault).
I'll think twice next time about creating a thread.

I'm in my forties, and I would stop what I was doing if a pair of any fast jet appeared in the sky
In my school days I would see transports every single day, helicopters weekly and trainers at least three times a week.
While I still see Chinooks and Lynx, I only saw one pair of Tonkas fly last year in total.
I'm glad you enjoyed what you saw. It's just a shame that some people don't seem to share your happiness..............who would ever think that would be the case on an aviation forum?

Either is correct.
It seem military people or when referring to the FJ they use Tornados
- including the RAF.

A greater number of current aircrew read this site than post on it - so your message may well have been seen by those to whom it's directed and they will doubtless be pleased to have made you smile. I don't know why so many people choose to be rude to strangers on the internet, when, presumably, they are perfectly capable of being civil in the 'real' world.

Wrong; it's 'two Tornados'.
'Tornadoes' is grammar applicable to tomatoes and 'Tornado's' is possessive case.
I think...

Thanks for the comments. As I said - I apologise for the grammar, the autocorrect on my phone changed it and I simply submitted the new thread.
THS - the general sentiment around here is very +ve re Odiham and the military in general
That said, there are a couple of vocal NIMBY's in Farnham who object regularly to overflights over the town. On the plus side, whenever they write to the local rag to complain letters in support of your activities greatly outnumber their ramblings. You guys may not appreciate it but there is a large "silent" majority who are very grateful for all that you guys do
As to training, we will hopefully be buying more land so you guys can use us as a training option as Wishanger Lakes will soon no longer be available (PM if interested for info)

The guy was simply thanking the crews who flew over and by the sounds of it brightened up his day but immediately gets flamed by people who clearly have nothing better to do.
Personally I find it refreshing to get compliments and thank you's from members of the public when it's normally low flying complaints I get!

Whilst we're at it, led me add my thanks to the Typhoon pilot who came wazzing through EMA's airspace on an overshoot as 'Typhoon 38' today, most excellent!

It's what the PPRuNe site is good at, does it better than most sites I've viewed and it obviously gives some people a lot of pleasure.
