Hi guys ive got a question but a bit of background info first. My father has been crazy about aircraft since he was a boy and all his life going to as many airshows as he can. Unfortunatly hes now in his mid seventies and has pulminary fibrosis so cant walk more than 10yrds without getting out of breath and needing a spell on his oxygen bottle so going to airshows now is impossible.
Now to my question, my parents live in Norfolk with their back garden over looking fields. Its his birthday next June and I was going to contact the Station Commander of the nearest RAF base [ RAF Marham ] to see if it would be possible if say he had any planes flying on my fathers birthday could they do, on their way back a couple of low runs or something across the fields at the back of my parents house so he could sit and watch them.
This would probably break lots of regulations so prob a no but just thought id ask. What do you think my chances would be?

frogy.......an idea....
As your father is breathless after a few yards walking, why not get him an electric cart 
. If you look around I'm sure you'd find something suitable with enough range to view even the gigantic RIAT static park (and back!).....just a thought...best of luck anyway...
Is there a 'spotters car park' at Marham? If so get the electric cart [plus umbrella, bottle of whisky and a few turkey sarnies) and give him a couple of hours close to the runway). He'd love that! He would come back smiling but deaf!!

Thanks for the replies guys. He has got a manual wheel chair to go about in but unfortunatly due to his medication he has to be near a toilet as much as possible so although a 'spotters car park' is a good idea i dont know if it would work.
Unfortunatly this illness is not treatable and will only get worse with time, i hate to say it but leading to only one conclusion, so just wanted to give him a treat for his birthday.
Yes i will write to the station commander and see what he says.

You should also try some local civilian airfields as they may have someone willing to help out - you can sometimes book a display which is not as expensive as you may think

Try the USAF at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk. The 48th Fighter Wing operate F-15 Eagle and Strike Eagle. If the F-15s are utilising one of the East Coast ranges on that day then they might consider an overflight?

Just think if you stupidly put the Lat and long of your old dear's house on here and you suddenly got lots of traffic over your house.

I agree with Faithless. If your father lives outside any Restricted Airspace and you put the Lat and Long on this site you may well be surprised. It is well worth also contacting BBMF. If they happen to have a task in that area on the date of your fathers birthday they may be able to weave a flypast into their programme. Best of luck.

I know this thread is old now but just wanted to thank everyone for their advice. Unfortunatly it wont be possible to do this for him now as my father died yesterday,
