The UK isn't currently an importer of Iranian crude,. We stopped buying at the end of 2011.
Interesting that Belgium and Germany aren't on the list though.
Eight European Union countries imported Iranian crude oil in the third quarter of 2011, Eurostat figures show. Former buyers of Iranian crude, including the U.K., Austria, Poland, and Portugal, cut their imports to zero in the third quarter.

As an aside, I also wonder if they got help with the technology from the Israeli's before their relations went sour?

In a sharp turn of policy, Turkey has decided to develop a 2,500-km-range (1560mi) ballistic missile within the next two years. Yucel Altunbasak, head of Turkey's state Scientific Research Institute, said that the missile is being developed under a request from Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkey will test fire a 1,500-km-range missile this year, according to Altunbasak. Publicly officials have not explained why Turkey needs an intermediate range ballistic missile.
As an aside, I also wonder if they got help with the technology from the Israeli's before their relations went sour?

I think Russia is more likely to be the biggest beneficiary being closer to europe and already having pipelines installed to deliver.

Iranian naval ships dock at Syria’s Tartus port
Two Iranian Navy’s ships have docked in the Syrian port of Tartus to provide maritime training to Syria’s naval forces under an agreement signed between Tehran and Damascus a year ago.
The Iranian fleet, consisting of a destroyer and a supply ship, arrived at Tartus port, situated 220 kilometers (136 miles) northwest of the Syrian capital Damascus, on Friday a day after they received permission from the Egyptian armed forces to sail along the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea on their way to the Syrian coast, Mehr News Agency reported on Saturday.
Iran's Navy has increased its presence in international waters since last year, deploying vessels in the Indian Ocean and sending two ships to the Mediterranean Sea for the first time in February 2011 via the Suez Canal.

Other sources say its the Kharg plus the frigate Alvand
The Kharg is a 1977 British built equivalent to an RFA - and the Israelis seem to think she's stuffed full of missile for Hizbollah. Of course it may just be carrying guns for the Syrians.....
First you have the Russian making an arms run into Syria, guarded by - among other things - their only carrier, now you have another supply run from Iran into Syria
Who -or what - is next?

The ships entered the canal from the Mediterranean Sea early in the morning, heading south toward the Red Sea, and were expected to leave the canal Tuesday afternoon, the source said.

I don't think Iranians are doing anything in Egypt that Muslim Brotherhood are not already doing......
I do forecast Suez canal having problems in the near future as Egypt decides to take action.

I get the sense that the Muslim Brotherhood take a dim view of folk from Iran meddling in things in their area, at least in Egypt.
Would Egypt close down the canal again, as was done after the 1967 war?
