47 Squadron Print near Groom Lake

If it was not for the little green men souvenirs and t shirts etc etc - I would like to say that the cafe / restaurant / motel out in Rachel could be mistaken for a squadron bar with patches and stickers on the wall and ceiling from those who have visited / partaken Red Flag.

The proprietor is a source of great entertainment and the food is not too bad for its price. He kept going on about the owner of said brevet .about being the most dangerous Brit he knows. When I causally asked what 'Doc's background was, FJ/ME/RW the gent got aggro and said "never know what he flew out of GL as we will never find out".

Thankfully one was on the bourbon and flowing through the system

cheers

Flew with Doc many times, that badge has been there for at least 15 years.

Doc was never on 47Sqn or flew out of Groom Lake on anything but his imagination. He's not dangerous anymore either having passed away five years ago.

RIP Doc....as I said the propreitor /barman/ cook is an entertainer, his insuniation about dangerous was probably more on the social side / good to drink with.

Amongst the other tales that were being spurted over the bar included the one about those with high OPSEC than the POTUS which included the guys niece....its entertainment....to all punters.

cheers

Hi Dougie, Doc wasn't a bad bloke actually, just a bit fanciful I always enjoyed his company and I am saddened to hear that he is no longer with us.

All the best

Norman (Doc) Livingston died on 28th March 2012. I attended his funeral. If anybody wants to know the story please PM me.
Chopper 2004. I was not offended by your story and hope that you took none from my reply.
