God I must have sat through Dr Fod a million times when it was foggy and flying was scrubbed at Coningsby mid 70's. That and the lox film with the guy on the ventilator at the end which was supposed to scare us into good practice when we still used to vent the lox pack onto the pan and freeze stuff in it for a lark.........'Oi what you lot doing'.....'It's just very thick radiation fog chief due to our location in a maritme temperate climate'.......'Er, right yeah I knew that'...............

Aaah the days of intake checks on the Lightning ! Squeeze past the bullet (Radar bit ) and have a look see. Fat gits forget it !! I remember that we did all sorts of checks to determine how the motors were damaged by FOD. We did conclude that it was not the motor that was sucking the stuff up, by putting a layer of poly pellets in front of the intake and going to max power. Did not suck a thing!
Finally discover that by taxiing a little further apart solved the problem. The stuff thrown up by the first guy had settled by the time the second came through. Job done!

Yes, good to see this after all these years, it brings back very fond memories of watching this one during my technical training in 1977. There was also another film (not nearly as good) from America called something like "The Man from Lox".
How lazy. A moments Googling has turned up the name Monica Thimme. Turns out she has appeared in several Jazz mags - what a turn up, not only rediscovering a favourite film, but discovering that the focal point of said film was a purveyor of the finest Gentlemen's Relish

Not FOD but still on thread-ish - anyone have a copy of I think it was 'Lt Survivor.' Excellent but entirely non-PC FS vid of an old and bold Pinger and his fresh faced oppo's pre flight preparation... complete with the older one day dreaming instead of getting his goon bag on early enough to avoid ripping the seals etc ...needless to say the subject of his day dreaming (or dreaming, quick nap perhaps) was the reason for his considerable fatigue that morning - some quite vivid visual recollections of the unfortunate lady and her performance the night before (had he ripped his bag earlier too? 
)
Funnily enough they lose a donkey in the dip (or something similar) and take a swim - and he's had his last shag whilst his younger pilot avoids hypothermia.
Happily the two girls present thought it hilarious and it also proved to be a great FS film since I remember it well !

Wasn't there a FOD FS clip put out in the mid-90s with a rock music backing track? Can't remember the name, but would love to see that again.

I recall a FOD film which consists of a nut beng thrown in the intake of, I think, an F86, which shook itself apart in about 30 seconds. Then there was the Canadian first aid film which started with a Dakota crashing....

I remember getting very queasy while watching 'U.S. army medicine in Vietnam' for the first time.
It wasn't the blood and gore that got to me, but the sight of some of the tropical diseases! As someone in their late teens, the thought of getting dengue fever and being covered in spots (I was embarrassed by a bit of acne at the time) was just too much to cope with and I was nearly sick

Does anyone remember the FS film which started with the crew ejecting from a Javalin? I first saw it as an ATC cadet in about 1968 & it showed how frustrations with day to day matters can build up.
I'd love to see it put on utube.
