Until the development of Air brakes in the early 1960s, all RAF pilots relied on Ear brakes for extra stopping power. Just a heads up...

I bet if you asked all the people who work in UK ADGE today, only a handful would be able to tell you that originally the acronym stood for Airship Detecting Giant Ears.
