(This is not an entry)

Well spotted, chaps (the Crown of Ashoka, of course ! - old eyes not up to scratch, thought it might be a pussy-cat). Funny thing, though, I think the first Spits the IAF got were the Mk.XIVs at the end of WWII, this looks more like a Mk.Vc to me.

And I don't recall anyone wearing blue battledress (it gets hot out there !) plus May Vests. Why would you want to go out to sea over a land battle ? (all right the Sunderbands, but nobody wore a May West for that: there was always plenty of dry-ish land to put it down on if need be).

Were there any dedicated Indian RAF Sqdns in Europe ?
