Well yes, my feet are lovely and dry, standing on the Nav

(yes I know its a single seater, but we need a standard joke at the expence of the Navigator community!!)

Well I did try to eject but the Admiral did say I should go down with the ship, as this was the second time this has happened to me

Runway Wet Wet Wet...........

or

The dangers of a high sink rate in the harrier were always thought to apply just to the 'airborne' phase of the flight.

Even disguising them as mini subs couldn't save the Sea Harriers from the chop.

And the prize for being the first to reach page 1000 is this used, slightly damp but otherwise operational Sea Harrier. Winner must collect.

Judging time

Page 0

Well played everybody, it's time to get ourselves out of the creek.
This one is very, very hard to judge, but here goes:

3rd prize: 622
It's not quite what Bloggs was expecting after he had been told he was being fast jet streamed.
2nd prize: squeaker
It wasn't my fault, the boat moved!
1st prize: Dunky with the appropriate name and a short sharp quip
"Feet wet, over".
Dry her out and take her away Dunky

It took us nine years to clock up 1000 pages with over 20,000 entries and 2.4 Million hits !

Top Ten Cap Competeers

But Buster wins with a 7.7% Penetration Coefficient

Airborne Artist deserves a prize too ... possibly the longest running PPRuNe thread ... with no fighting

I'm not proud of much I've done, but the Pprune CapComp thread is one I cherish. The Mil forum is generally pretty clear of willy waving, but this thread always brings out the best in all our members, many of whom have never even worn a uniform, let alone been let loose in one of Betty's flying machines.

May I thank the Mods and all those contributors who've made it the success that it has become, and I look forward to celebrating the 50,000.

As my old regimental motto says "Who cares who wins?"

I'm honoured, I'll spark up a Cohiba in celebration

Try this one, I don't think it's been used before.

"So, Pike, over the battlefield at 300 feet, the cargo door will open and you kick-start the bike. At 200 feet, put on your crash helmet. At 100 feet, brace for landing. Immediately after touchdown, out you go!"

"But Captain Mainwaring... What happens if the bike won't start?"

"You'll get bump-started through the door. In which case, you've got about five seconds to get your crash helmet on - brace for landing immediately."

"Uncle Arthur..... !"
