But conditions would be squeezed and spartan, with no room for pressurised space suits. The report suggests that 1,360kg of dehydrated food will be enough to last the journey and the manifest includes 28kg of toilet paper for a crew of 2 for 500 days.

But the issue of radiation protection according to Mr Ojha is "glossed over" with the recognition that more work and "creative solutions" need to be explored. More work will also need to done to improve recycling technologies to convert urine into water.
Sweet, I wondered how they were going to rehydrate lunch..

They would only have to recycle our Morning Soil to equal my Missus' cooking.

One q; who's navigating?

Another q; can I nominate Beagle as one half of the couple? I'm sure he could persuade his carer to tag along.

Management got very excited when I mentioned the possibility of going to Mars. She cooled a little when I told her that it was not the chocolate factory although it was in the same Galaxy near the Milky Way.

Maybe this should be in the SatNav thread?

Anyone remember that wonderful radio programme in the '50s, Journey in to Space?

Or given it is a couple, how about a new series of Flesh Gordon?

Wouldn't they send a dog first?

Oh, if that man from Valley has his way they will.

hat, coat, scarf
