Remember when 39 flew PR 9s and all the crews were nuts, including Al Suicide.

What a waste....bringing Boom Bang back from a Sortie!

There was nothing out there worth hitting?

No Terry Taliban with an AK waltzing about the mountains?

No Terry transmitting on a Cell Phone or Walkie Talkie?

Neat Kit they have to work with....

It's senses. Unlikely.
More likely its sensors. I suspect he is a sensor operator.

When 24 Squadron RFC was equipped with DH 5s at least one of the pilots was a Corporal.

Dont hide your light under a bushel Rosevidney - I believe the AAC had quite a few NCO pilots in more recent times May still have, for all I know.

TTN you must remember that I retired from the Hairy Arm Corps a third of a century ago and I can't claim to be au fait with todays service! That said, the majority of pilots in my time were SNCOs or W/Os. I am also old enough to remember a rating pilot (with bell bottomed trousers and a kiss-me-quick hat) of the FAA and of course the RAF in the old days had plenty of non-officer aircrew.

gijoe - nice spot... And by the way, the Sgt is the sensor operator and the vast majority of pilots in the AAC are NCOs and very good they are
