Military AircrewA forum for the professionals who fly the non-civilian hardware, and the backroom boys and girls without whom nothing would leave the ground. Army, Navy and Airforces of the World, all equally welcome here.
I remember someone posting here in 2008 about him being a Nimrod pilot Walt, using his past 'experience' to get a pilot job, but someone from the company got suspicious and posted questions on here about his past
He did indeed fly as PIC from Kinloss many times but mostly in Fulmar Gliding clubs chippy tug.....
Fecker gave me a rollocking once for missing a PA28 checkout with him as I was stuck flying space cadets in one of Her Majestys finest plastic motor gliders. Apparantly he never got the 'message' I sent despite it being scrawled in massive writing on the whiteboard right behind where he was standing....

I used to tell young ladies I was a dolphin trainer when I never actually was....
We also once tried to pass off the 5 man crew as a visiting UK polo team, with the GE as team manager! That didn't work on the young ladies in question either..!!
Many years ago (Easter 1964?) we took some gliders from Cranwell to W-s-M towed by Chipmunks. A more high performance single-seater went in its trailer. The sailplane landed out and even Mike J******n was not prepared to try to aero tow it out of the small field so we set off through the Mendips on a ground retrieve. On the way back we stopped at a rather nice pub and were served by a delightful but not over-bright West Country lass. All of us in old flying suits with a long trailer on the back of, ISTR, a Ford Anglia. By the time we left DC L*****n has almost coninced her were were part of a circus and conveying trained dachsund horses.
