Gentlemen, I wouldn't normally poke my nose in here, but this would appear to be an aircraft of the Moroccan Air Force, not the RAF as has been stated above.

Presently being discussed in the Military Forum.

Quite so, but open to misinterpretation, all the same.

Au contraire!

The 'Royal Air Force' is so named to acknowledge the fact that it was the World's FIRST 'Air Force'.

From wikipedia:
The RAF is the world's oldest independent air force: that is, the first air force to become independent of army or navy control.[3] It was founded on 1 April 1918
Obviously at that time there was no need to call it the "British' Air Force (as some of our colonial cousins like to refer to it) as nobody else had thought of one yet!

So all others are named in such a way as to avoid the confusion we have seen here.

Simples!

Deepest condolences to all the families of those involved.

Heard that on Spanish Radio a couple of hours back.

That C-130 looks more like a CN-135 to me.

Sorry, I should have said CN--235.
Agree the reg is a C-130 and that's what you see in the BBC video.
But have a closer look at the tail, that might be a C-130 but then again might be a CN-235, it's not unknown for serials in this part of the world to travel across types.

It's only because the (C-130) rudder is completely gone that it make it look like it.
