14 Sqn Disbandment

As a result of the reduction of the Tornado GR4 Force to 5 squadrons, 14 Squadron will sadly disband with the laying up of the Squadron Standard at Cranwell on 1 Jun 11.

Members of the Squadron Association will know about the events commemorating 14's closing over the next few weeks, but we would like to take this opportunity to invite ex Crusaders and those with close ties to the Squadron to join us at Lossiemouth one last time.

14 Squadron's last flying day at Lossiemouth will be Friday 15 April, and the formal disbandment parade will take place on Tuesday 19 April. Before the Standard is laid up, we will host a hangar party on Saturday 21 May.

Any ex Crusaders who would like to join the current members (and Eric) up at Lossiemouth for any of these events, please email 14SqnCrusaders@gmail.com, or write to:

We look forward to seeing as many people as possible join us to celebrate 14 Squadron's proud 96 years of service.

Sad News

Dear Crusaders.

Sad news indeed, even though we knew it was going to happen.

Thoughts and best wishes to all on (and who have served on) the finest Tornado GR4 Sqn in the RAF.

PS Mods - lets make this and the XIII Sqn one stickies.....

Bloody shame. I was hoping one day to donate my '14 Sqn Jag in the Valleys' original oil to the Officers Mess in return for a jolly.

My already unlikely to be successful plan seems to be consigned to the same place as a decommissioned Tornado
