Fly Navy 100 - Royal Garden Party

I'd just like to thank the Royal family for inviting us all into their back garden yesterday. It was a fantastic afternoon and equally as much fun to see most of the Fleet Air Arm on a "Rig Run" in Leicester Square. I also understand that this was the first ever garden party where they served alcohol....thank you Sir Donald Gosling... Very much appreciated.

Great fly past as well by aviations finest....but again....sad that they won't allow the Harrier to fly over the city.

Anyway, a big thanks to the FN100 team...BZ

... which for the beancounters translates as "obviously the Fleet Air Arm aren't doing anything operationally useful - time to cut their numbers"

Fantastic day, so many old chums I haven't seen for years (30 in one case) hardly had time to quaff Sir Donald's champagne! As someone said it was like a village fete but with all your old mates there. FAA101 next year anyone, or maybe Royal Naval Air Service 100 in 2012???

FN100 Team

Seconded. BZ to Capt A, Cdrs B, E and H - and all the boys and girls within the FN100 team (Danny, Ian, Kieron) who have worked their socks off (with little or no funding) and have delivered in spades. Sounds like the Navy all over........

Great to see so many old friends, ditto the sentiments of others. Lets make it a yearly thing - surely DoY can persuade HMQ to allow us to use her back garden to have a small soiree every year? We could make it a tradition - RAF take note - you have habits - most of them bad.

Like having the ability to get Fast Air over HM's house and garden.

'Twas a great afternoon...one of only three of my 'ilk' there..spent the whole time with my head on a swivel, getting in touch with some muckers I hadn't seen in a few years...and well done to Phil C for getting me into the VIP area..and great to do a rig-run into China town for some proper 'schwallied' chow! Great night..thanx to Paddy for letting me be his bitch!!!
