What time did the traffic start to build? Local news now reporting the traffic problems. Can't decide whether to bother going tomorrow, what with no Vulcan and major traffic probs.

Thought there was already a thread running on the Vulcan probs on another page somewhere!!!!!
All i did was post a couple of photo's & none of them was of the vulcan & this goes off thread in spectacular style.
Cheers guys.

The crewman in that Merlin needs a good slating and rebriefing about being strapped in. What on earth does he think he is doing... Clown. Maybe he is checking the tail in case it hits a tree.... If anyone knows that moron then please tell him to sit down and strap in.

spheroid, that crewman is trying to look cool, cut him some slack.
I think that asking him to sit down and strap in might be a bit to late.
Doesn't the aircraft captain have any say about when the door gets open?

Anyone care to comment on the airshow line up. For my part the very best i can say was NOT BRILLIANT. Considering this is supposed to be the premier RAF event of the year there was a distinct lack of fast jets! I am sorry but one typhoon right at the end of the show just won't cut it, could they not get a Tornado from anywhere, and what happened to the tactical demo ? All the promotional posters and even the tickets carried a picture of the Harrier yet we all know this was not in the flying display and has not been for a few years. Maybe they are hoping people will not bother attending in the future so they will have an excuse to scrap the show all together

I didn't got to the show for that reason, No Tornado flying,no C17, No RAF Merlin no Harrier No role demo & not enough International flying displays, given that it's billed as an international air show.
I went friday for arrivals as i saw airframes flying that are parked on static that i would like to see displaying, F16 would have been nice also never seen a F18 displayed on it's own except for the Blue Angels, also F15 would have been nice.
I realise that a lot of military hardware is tied up with conflicts & aircrews busy but RAF Waddington clashes with a Belgium air show every year & they seem to attract a lot of great airframes.
I feel for the Waddington organisers as they do their best.

Just seen this on another forum;

I went on Saturday - without the Vulcan flying it was a little threadbare. I was driving in on the A15 when I caught the news, but I'm a Waddo stalwart - attending the Waddington shows since 1997 (without a break) so wasn't gonna turn back even hearing that news.
A very good crowd there certainly was - but some were enjoying the sun more than the flying aircraft, it did cry out for a searing fast jet display or two.
Think of last year; we had the Role Demo, a French Mirage 2000, a Typhoon/Spitfire duo and of-course the Vulcan [flying only on Sat] none of these were present this time around.
