847 NAS and Mk 9 LBH?

When did 847 NAS started to received Mk 9 LBH (according to link to article_ below) or are they flown by FAA/RM aircrew under JHC?

Ministry of Defence | Defence News | History and Honour | 847 Naval Squadron: Best flight safety record

Will they be painted with RN titles in near future?

They only had them for the Iraq tour, all have now been returned whence they came and 847NAS are AH7 equipped once again.

After the presentations, Commodore Stanford, praised the Squadron for their outstanding achievements during another difficult period in a short but illustrious history.

As 847 NAS was formed from 3 Cdo Bde Air Sqn RM in 1995, the squadron history is not as 'short' as it may appear to some.

3 Cdo Bde Air Sqn RM was formed in 1968 from the various RM Commando Air Troops, who themselves formed in the early 1960s. Illustrious history, yes, but hardly that short.

I hope the currently serving guys in 847 NAS see their history as including that of the early RM Air Troops, and not having just started in 1995.

So is it true that 12 of the 24 AH currently in storage are going to be used by the 847 to ensure the survival of Amphibious operations or was it just wishful thinking by the RN?

I heard that the only stumbling block was the that the 24 were not fully UOR'd for hot and sandy places, but perfectly capable of a more generic embarked warfighting force?
