Tell Me Its Not True!! Microbiological Self Cleaning Underwear

My Missus is packing to go to Afghan, and has been issued with 'self cleaning' microbiological underwear!! She said that she got the same three years ago, what is the fuss!! So how long can you now wear a pair of shreddies for?? Do they now really clean themselves??

A day....you really don't want to wear them for longer (unless you like flies following you)

....and no they don't clean themselves....!

Bummer for the blokes is that they have no convenient 'access'. If you like nipple to knees undies they are definately the ones for you!

I thought the RAF Regt maxim was that a pair lasts for 4 days - right way round, back-to-front, then the same again but inside out!

shreddies

One pair on, one pair off and one pair in the wash !

At least one weeks wear was the rule when I joined over 40 years ago.
The laundry took one week and it was the rule that the one in the locker was of pristine condition.

And as for sheets - Top sheet goes on the bottom and the bottom sheet goes in the laundry.

For real men on APC...all of the above then swap with your crewwie. Eight days per pair!

Is it still in QRs about checking your troops' pants or was this just an urban myth?

In which case I have been very remiss and will get down to it immediately 'microbiological pants' or not, although I feel most of our troops' pants would be the only 'weapons of mass destruction' ever found in the Gulf
