EK Senior Crew Redundancies

This was reported today in Arabian Business by "unnamed sources" at EK. Surely the Costa Crew must be binned before any flight deck / cabin crew?

Does anyone have any intel on this?

It seems the knee jerk reaction to making just a decent profit over a huge profit is to stop any forward thinking....... its all about cost cutting (the usual short term thinking) and for the locals and others who are unlikely to get a job anywhere else protecting their little empires in EGHQ!

As for flight crew I've heard the rate is about 1.5 pilots a day leaving - the flow to Korean and to the Chinese carriers continue plus the few who just want to leave even if they haven't anything concrete planned yet or the others who think they can survive at Jet2 / Norwegian!

This reduction in experience levels in the LHS is obvious and the the knock on effect is now increasingly being seen in the dubious general knowledge / the absence of common sense and lack of big picture thinking in the RHS (shortly to be LHS then even quicker it seems being Training Captains!!) Yes we all had to learn sometime however I was lucky to fly with guys that actually had some experience - and that is sadly lacking at EK now!

And whats more worrying, the complete silence from Flt ops recently....................
But, but, failure rates have not increased. Nothing to see here, move along.
