Instability in the GCC. Should we be worried?

So first the Qatari Emir says a few things that upset the Saudis and UAE. This is dismissed as a hack.
However, Al Jazira TV and it's website are still blocked in UAE.

Now I'm reading more and more anti Qatar things like this:
http://english.alarabiya.net/en/view...policies-.html
Or this:
http://m.gulfnews.com/news/gulf/qata...atar-1.2036704

Is there something more serious going on here? How worried should we be about instability in this area?

You know that you just broke the law now?
No wonder that no one looks at this forum as serious anymore

Genuine question, is it against the law to move your money out of the country? Is this a country specific thing? What do you do when you retire/ leave?

You sound like a real moron! A person can do as they wish with their hard earned money. They don't have to leave their money in un trustable Arab countries. If I was in the GCC, I would be transferring my hard earned money to my home country of USA. There is also something called freedom of speech.. Do not try to shut anyone up on this forum. You must be a third world slave who is afraid of an honest conversation.

I do it on a monthly basis.
Whats wrong is the information that the Country froze bank accounts during a Gulf war...If you were one of the Sadam's family or a member of his party than yes.
UAE was part of the coalition at the time for the uninformed...

Yes. We know about the proxy wars in Yemen and syria.
You don't think it can spill over now Trump has armed the Saudis?

I reckon they would like to keep it as proxys, however, Trump seems to want a fight with Iran. That's obvious. And he's re-armed Saudi Arabia just a week ago.

Fair to say that in any conflict zone, air traffic is badly affected. That's not such a big deal when you are talking Iraqi Airways or Afriquaya. But this small area houses 3 of the world major operators. If it all turns nasty around here, who would fly through our hubs?
I am hoping to God it doesn't escalate around here. 8000 wide body pilots looking for jobs at the same time is not something I want to imagine.

You're not looking now?? EK is the worst job available at the moment. I'm guessing at least 6 of the 8 are looking.

If true, no QR flights over Saudi and Egypt.
What is going on?

Might be coincidence, but I can't transfer money out of the UAE just now..just a routine transfer and not a large amount, but it's the first time in a gazillion years that it hasn't worked..

all over flights and flights into and out of Qatar appear normal, an EK 777 just landed there..apparently there is a waiting period before enforcing the closures, to allow citizens of their respective countries to repatriate

This is the most serious political development to happen in the GCC for more than a decade. Seat belt sign on. The potential for conflict has just been increased exponentially. Let's hope cooler heads prevail and reasonableness to continue. Nobody wants further instability.
