Join EK with frozen ATPL

Hi guys,

I heard some rumors that Emirates is not accepting frozen ATPL? Can anyone clarify this matter to me.

I'm currently flying 737NG and have 2000+ hours but still a frozen ATPL due to the company I'm working for do not unfreeze our ATPL until our CU.

All help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Not true. Trained a guy a while back with frozen ATPL. You'll fly on 2 stripes until unfrozen but no pay penalty.

To apply, you must have a valid ICAO ATPL (or USA equivalent). We will accept applications from pilots from multiengine, multicrew, turboprop and jet aircraft, including business jets, with a MTOW of 10 tonnes or more.
This is from the official website. I was actually also at a point in my life that I'm considering two companies at the moment, but Emirates having a restriction regarding frozen ATPL was actually a requirement that made me look more in to the other one for the time being.

I even e-mailed with Emirates to join one of their roadshows but I couldn't because of this frozen ATPL restriction.

While that other company from Abu Dhabi clearly states on their website they do not accept frozen ATPL unless UAE citizen, Emirates only states "must have a valid ICAO ATPL".

hmm alright. Thanks for your answers - I appreciate...

I heard a bit of both as well. But i guess if you have been in direct contact with EK, then it must be true. Strange though, you can't even join the roadshow with a frozen atpl :/

Of course it's just a sim check to get it unfrozen. But it still would be nice to know for sure

At the roadshow they were putting pilots immediately to the test after the introduction and the slideshow. Plus: to visit the roadshow you have to apply first on the website and then give them your reference number of your job application so you can attend the roadshow.

Yes it sounds strange since the roadshow should be to convince people to sign up for Emirates. However the roadshow I am talking about was specifically for pilot selection.

There are PSP events and roadshows conducted frequent. Later is just a roadshow and former is a pilot selection process stage 1.
