Sorry guys email not real, I got the following message from an EK B777 Capt (so it MUST be true).

Bro,

Had a very interesting thing happening to me earlier today at HQ. While being jetlagged out of my soul trying to pack for my very early morning departure I realised that I didn't have any uniform at home! No big deal, it was around 11am so no traffic to go and get it from HQ, hoping that it was going to be ready. So I get there in flip flops and shorts since it was a quick in and out (mmm nice burgers) operation, but then looking at my watch saw that it was a weekday and I was there during business hours mmm interesting. Remembering that email, whatsapp msg, txt (whatever you want to call it) about good ol' CM I decided to go up to the 4th floor and drop him a visit.

Catched the lift from the G floor, pressed 4 and doors closed. Lift stops on the 2nd floor and surprise surprise, DCPB1 pops in! He looked at me with such despise due to my attire and also he saw the blue lanyard around my neck, he was trying so hard to see my name, I panicked and exited the lift by the nick of time (I had forgoten what my epin is so wasn't going to be able to print my warning letter from the emachine).

There went my plan to go see CM, to compose myself I went to the boy's room. While washing my hands, this gentleman in jeans and t-shirt came in and he looked very familiar for some reason. Kept doing my thing and the gentleman's phone rang, he picks up with a German accent "good morning your Highness", HA! I know who he is now. Approached him and asked if it was him, he said yes this is me how can I help you? I started asking him and he stopped me to say "you want to know about that email don't you?", wow this guy is good. He told me the email is not true, he has read it tho and he thinks is funny because it's very close to what his plans are. Of course he didn't want to go too deep into it but he hinted that he will try to achieve good things for everyone, specially the work force, he even mentioned something about commuting. This is first hand information my friend.

There I was driving home happy about my little chat with CM and positive about things to come when I realised I had forgotten to pick up the bloody uniform!!!

Don't shoot the messenger.

Yes, there's a reason- just not the one your inflated ego assumes
Provocation is my specialization. I figured long ago how to attract the attention of inflated egos here - just play your game. Always have someone to oppose me which allows me to explain my arguments better. Even now, when I told you this, I will still manage to provoke you again because you just can't help it. Oh, one more thing - everyone has ego, inflated or not, it doesn't matter. What matters is the purpose you are using it for.

Back to the topic: I do need to explain myself better - maybe the email is fake, but my instinct definitely tells me there is something in it. If you want to spread the idea in some organization you have to talk about it to common workers, low grades. Same goes if you want to spread a rebellion or hope, motivation. It shouldn't be strange that someone found out about CM's plans. The one who will really bring the change will behave exactly like described in the e-mail and rumours. It can be CM or someone really good in organizational psychology. Finally, if this is just a hoax, it may be the last stage of EK's decay...

One of the problems with social media being everywhere, is that these stories spread quickly. In yesteryear, they had the same. Stories of some watery tart handing out swords to determine the countries leader and the like. But now, everyday you get swarmed with stories about a professor with a glass of sand, or some woman meeting an old man who is in a hurry to meet his wife with dementia.
Here in the asylum, we have stories of a fashion challenged, toilet lurking kraut, who will save the day. If it makes you feel better, Fantastic. But if the idea that he answers the phone mid Crap, and freely spills his guts post Crap doesn't make you go hmmmm, then you need to revisit that CRM thing about suspicion.
Just as fat mid aged cat owning single ladies love to read about never dieing true love. EK pilots love to read of the mashiah that will ride in on a white steed to their rescue.

@don

EK turned itself into one of the world's leading PR companies and flight ops become non-core business. So how can you say its wrong for its pilots to read and believe stories.

Of course planted bad news about competitors are juicy and about own self are vehemently discounted.

Chickens do come home to roost.

I hope you're not a pilot. With an attitude like that you would'nt last one minute in a cockpit.

Quote from two threads

"Tow Indians on dingy boats out of its territorial waters and place a courtesy call to Indian Embassy and let their Navy rescue them.

Plan all along was to blame sub-continent folks if things go south. Most accept that because they are part of the problem."

Take a good look at yourself. Looks pretty bad right now. But there's always hope.

@joe

I double checked and my conscious is very clear. Rather than asking me, why not ask people who are root cause of the problem.
Is it OK to treat expat pilots badly?
Is it OK to treat 20 year old females thousands of miles away from families badly?
Who sanctioned this kind of behavior?
Even if some one sanctioned, where is the minimum human decency?

notapilot15, what you say above is valid, but it's not what was drawn to attention in my post.

I'm sure you're smart enough to figure that out and reflect on it. Good luck.

Were you an early investor in a ponzi scheme?

Jayto,

Am thinking of putting the overnight allowance on red. Should see me through the first 10min or so.

Pilots being downgraded, and cabin crew with extended unpaid leave...

If both rumors are true then there must be something going on. The minions don't know about it, haven't been told about it, and won't see it coming!!

Not that it will apply to EK but I understand that under the UAE Labour Law in general it is illegal for the employer to offer unpaid leave. The employee however may request it for personal reasons and it may or may not be granted.

When will you start to understand that UAE labor law does not apply for EK employees!

We are a semi-government entity, meaning they can apply any kind of law to their liking.

is a logical thing to do and the only solution for Emirates to get out of the ****.
This is more important than the money
EK has dug itself a hole in the way it has gone about its business the last 10 years or so
Emirates Group Announces Record Profits

So if Emirates claim a US$1.9 billion profit, what is the "****" they need to get out of, or what hole are they dug into?

Seems a disconnect between disgruntled staff and a massively profitable business?
