Unhappy

Apparently another day off lost into the ether. No crewing shortage, rosters well within legal limits and acceptable. Keep on chugging boys and girls!

If that's true Silver, I can't see the point of the excercise. ( well perhaps I can, but as something productive, I don't get it. )

My personal opinion: for him, just in order to say " I summoned them up informally to ask what and if something was wrong, but everything was fabulous and everyone happy. Hence rumors are fake, pilots are motivated, money is plenty and we are not under-manned! "
what do you guys expected?

We will soon hear that we will be able to bid for the remainder of our 42 days leave. This will of course fix everything.......It is unfortunate that the extra leave will probably not be able to be taken when you would like it.

It could well be the case that in light of the tradegy that occurred to FZ and the RT article suggesting it may have been fatigue, EK would be very cautious to admit to a crewing shortage and the resultant abuse to its current crew in the public domain. I think a lot more light may be shed on this issue...

In my opinion the meeting was well conducted. He listened and had Rostering answer most of the questions that were asked. With due respect it was one of the best meetings. Let's wait for the outcome.

Pmasha has only had about 3 posts and they are completely pro company. Are you management sir? Genuine question.

A manager being nice isn't really what people were after from that meeting, although it would have been a stellar change from the status quo.

People, I think, generally want 3 or 4 things from the company at the moment:

1) Fewer flying hours
2) More money, we've lost about 10% over the last few years alone due to inflation
3) Commutable rosters, as unrealistic as that may be
4) 42 days leave, given in proper blocks, not in 4 or 5 days stretches, with enough ALTs to cover them.

Any commitments on any of those?

The point wasn't for rostering to answer questions, this wasn't a washup it was supposed to be him finding out what was wrong so he can fix them.

If all the main points were met with 'no', then you'd have been better off spending your time asking for technical advice in Sharaf DG.

And RB, absolute nonsense. I know of 3 or 4 people who were invited and not a single company man between them, and not a single warning letter handed out either, for the record. Some of them were on their notice period.

So, all I get so far - is that Rosters were discussed, and a little about our 42 days of leave? Is that all? WERE NO OTHER AREAS ADDRESSED?

Did He NOT ask - Why are so many leaving? And why are so few joining?

Did He NOT ask for recommendations from the pilots who were invited, as to how to fix things? Or at least ask us What is Wrong?

Did Anyone at all go to this meeting???

I would wait for the company to advise on the topics and outcome through the proper channels, but I doubt that will happen - just like we never heard anything from "THE SURVEY".
