SAUDIA vs. everyone else

Recently I read a couple of posts written by a SAA pilot. He keeps mentioning how everything is so much better at Saudia vs. the rest of the Gulf airlines.

Is that true? Is it really so much better to work for Saudia vs. Emirates or Etihad etc?

He even mentioned that a pilot taking a job at Saudia is told of the details of the contract, but then after he graduates from training he is very pleasantly surprised by real details that are a lot better!

Just curious.
Thanks

Either you haven`t done ANY research , or you`re this is a wind-up , or perhaps you really are this naive , or just maybe you might be living in a cave. If any of the above bear any resemblance to your current situation , no apology required , if not , are you really that clueless ? Btw , it`s nothing like Arizona.

It would have to be a one week on, 51 week off deal, paying $50,000 a month for me to even consider going near that degenerate excuse for a country voluntarily.

The deal is worth about 10% less financially than Emirates. The amount of time spent in an aircraft is probably 10% more than Emirates with all the DH within Saudi Arabia. You live in a state which, more strictly than anybody else, observes sharia law.

SV vs ME

There are no aviation heavens . Especially in the Middle East. There is a dedicated thread comparing SV and EK. Go and read it.

Anybody currently at Saudia prepared to give me some info via PM?

I am qualified on a type operated by Saudia and have all the requirements for Direct Entry Command, just looking for some honest guidance and info.

The Fragrant Harbour now not so fragrant anymore....

Nowhere in the gulf is particularly great to practice your trade, but In my opinion based on working for 3 major carriers and having freinds in most:

Qatar/Emirates rank as the most complaints
Oman Air & Unmentionables have the least complaints based on my ear...

Saudi... Well no one really wants to live in such isolation
