Devil

This story was carried on Radio 2 news this morning.

As the OP says - be careful - some folks around here are hyper sensitive to any form of criticism.

Other reports that using dashboard cameras could also get you in trouble in UAE. You need permission to film.

And this is the place that promotes e-Government !! They need to get the laws up-dated to match today's technology and what might be done with it.

No need to look much farther than EK for a shining example of that!

She has now been deported. Seems the person who complained (and who parked in 2 disabled spaces) was European. I'd like to see him/her disabled !!

I read an article recently saying that if you send curse words on what's app you can be fined or even jailed? Anyone here anything about this??

Ok, so just have to ask....39 year old woman, artist, obviously single....has nothing better to do than enforce parking laws in AUH? Some knob parks in a disabled space, is it the worst travesty happening in AUH? No. Is it against most Western morals to park like that? Probably. Worth taking the time photograph and post to Facebook? Certainly not, considering how many people have been jailed in the last year in UAE for innocently using their cameras. Just don't understand why people can't mind their own business if it doesn't affect them directly. If you feel your sense of true art is directly affected, call the cops, report it, be an adult.....Facebook BS is for teenagers

Yeah but you forgot to mention The Government Newspaper of Abu Dhabi ran a Photo spread on July 11th called Abu Dhabi’s parking offenders - in pictures with no attempt to de identify the offending vehicles

It is all part of living in a civilized society. Does a knob that parks in a handicap spot really effect your life? No but it is part of the Broken Window theory. Where if you let the window stay broken that leads to other and bigger problems and very quickly society starts to break down.
Dubai is not at the bottom of this theory yet but with its selective enforcement of rules and laws it is not a ideal place to model after all.

Actually, I absolutely detest social network shaming. Far too much if in communities in the UK, seems to be catching on and is horrible for those at the receiving end. Like the bloke above said, use the system, call the cops, it is what they are there for.
