Sounds to me like the lack of crews may now be starting to cause constraints on the training program?

Was the bid for the Skymark A380 simulator not successful then? Courses are indeed being canned; that sim, had they got it, would have been up and running for courses starting in August apparently.

I suspect that they now have a hole where a 380 sim should be, and where a (mighty) 330 sim used to be...

What's the use of having the sim up and running when we can't get punters through the door!!

I think the punters are on the 330 now, and their courses are being cancelled. Seems to happen a lot. Hard to believe with such great planners at the helm.

I would turn it down. Promises made and promises not kept. That is SOP in the ME and a big red flag...........

Sorry to hear that Smiffy. From an SFI perspective I don't suppose there is a lot of difference between the A330 and A380 so it could be worse. Good luck with your new career, even if it isn't what you planned.

Thanks, BigG....I think that you are right but I do rue all of the wasted time (my time) spent working back up to speed on the 380 CBT, only to have the rug pulled from under me. Oh well, c'est la vie. A year ago, I nearly died so this is small fry really! Now ive quit moaning about it, guess that I can get on with the job and have some fun with it.

Don't worry too much, Smiffy re A380. The SFI gig is 'not bad' within the general context of life here - I won't say anymore than that as you have probably read all these threads on the ME forum, the vast majority correct, unfortunately. They will probably move you to the 380 / 350 ( if it arrives) at some stage, anyway.

Cheers

Regular poster captainsmiffy is probably up to speed on the contents of the threads in the ME forum. In his own words from post #13:

Yes, done 8 years here (at EK), so I know!
Sorry to hear your news smiffy.

Smiff,

Welcome (back) to the Classics. The best fleet, getting better by the minute as it shrinks. More familiar faces, better camaraderie.
Wish you well with your recovery.
