Sad to hear about Mike.
I was a technical instructor with Gulf Air from 1975 to 92 doing the ground school on the Tristar, B737 and A320. Also I traveled with Mike to check on the pilot trainees in the USA and UK.
A lovely guy, very upfront but did not suffer fools.
A sad loss.

oh my - any one know how or what took him as I always understood him to be fit playing squash . He wasn't exactly a spring chicken, but still quite early?
Hard nosed bugger but I think overall quite fair. Nick named Beaky...

RIP Mike
Mike was a great guy, true, he did not suffer fools but he would fight for his team and its members, if it was possible within the company political framework. There are not many managers with that capability in aviation of today.
I will remember with respect.

Very sad news. Mike gave me my first jet job on GF 737's, along with several other turboprop pilots. As the 737 Boss he upheld high standards, but was always fair. Steely exterior, but his assistance helped many pilots into airline careers.
RIP, Mike, and thanks.

RIP Captain Davis,
Definitely, an Officer and a Gentelmen! A few of us local pilots had him throughout our initial B737 Type Rating in Crawley, 34 years ago.
The training was conducted through Christmas time, he went out of his way to invite all of us for Christmas lunch with his wife and friends. I had the privilege of working under his department, until his resignation.
Great memories of a trip to JFK on the A340 with Airbus line Assisst the late Captain Arej Fatami,
Mike, Arej and myself were cruising around Lady Liberty in New York Harbour sipping cocktails. Great Day.
