Simple fix to this: UAE, bahrain, and saudi block qatar from entering their airspace…

I like EK's better. I can only imagine how many drunken idiots would be tripping all over this one.

I can see drinks going down the backs of passengers who don't own them.

You have to love that the economy class pax are going to be sitting there watching these drunken chaps get plastered.

Forget the fact that the buddy in the front row can't recline his chair, now he has to put up with drunk pax screaming at each other. Going to be a long flight me thinks.

Hmmm. The design is poor, no 'mingling' room at all. They've put it smack in the middle of revenue seat space too. At least the EK bar utilises a little of the dead space at the rear of the upper deck. They're also going to have to strictly police those curtains through to economy! The colour scheme will be v familiar to those who've travelled on the Scotrail sleeper between London & Scotland!

Much prefer EK's offering. Spent quite a few happy hours down the back, always served by nice, friendly and funny crew members. Have had my dinner there too, lined up on the bar, which is much nicer than being sat all alone looking at a screen.

I looked at that picture and was half expecting to see Lenny Henry walk in and start advertising "Premier Inn".
Reminds me of the Premier Inn halfway between the Copthorn and crematorium near LGW

Take a look at the bar again..

.it's one big Question mark...an intended Freudian slip of a design 'a la' Burj Al Arab 'cross' from a euro architect who has a sense of humor..

One can only hope.

What's the big difference anyway, a whale is a whale, no matter how you dress it up. If crew or passengers suffer from a Gueppetto-complex and desperately want to be in a whale, so be it. Just remember that the guy waiting outside has a very long nose ......

What's however astonishing is the fact that the bar is uncontested on Whale-American routes whereas on aircraft with normal BMI the skipper's "do not congregate" speech is to be diligently enforced.

Just WHAT is their fascination with pen!s-head purple??
The Qatar National flag is purple and white. The aircraft livery is purple and grey. Not a lot to do with bell ends.

Funny that! Most of you 777 girls riding the 'whale' seem to spend most of your time in the bar

It’s actually the very best place to be in the whale, you’re right.
But it’s still a whale.
You can build a bar or a shower into a IL76, but that does not make it prettier, nothing to do with the hull.
Look, I can understand the thrill and hoohaa about the 380, but frankly, you can insulate and decorate any ugly airframe to that standard. It’s a designer thing and not an engineer thing and even less a pilot thing.

So let the advertisers brag about it’s interiour and store your handbag.
