Stexup... To be a member of EASA they have to be part of the EU. That will not happen in our lifetime!

Having said that, they could and probably will change their (Turkish) rules as they constantly do, so I agree it is possible the Turkish DGCA will require a EASA licence even though it isn't legally required.

Or you may have to sit the 14 exams for the Turkish Licence in the future

well based on the tanking Lira and the impossible to do anything schedule I have decided to not go to the interview. I thanked them for the opportunity and said until they tie their pay to a more stable currency like USD or EUR and offered a commuting roster comparable to the rest of the world I cannot work for Turkish.

I really think it would be a good job if they could guarantee pay and offer more time off than a 6/1, 5/1 schedule.

Yes, TL... quoted average Gross pay per month of 24,100 for Capt and 13,500 for F/O on a widebody with 5% tax. Is this what is happening?
Other terms and conditions aren't competitive either.
Keen to hear more info

Yabanci CPT???No way

My dear you really think in turkey a turkish company is going to make a yabanci Cpt??? No wayyyyyy.
If they have even a blind turk they will give him 4 bars before you zavalli yabanci (poor stranger), they think that we expats are there just to be Cpt and run away, but if they dont set a condition where an expat with his family could live, is what we have to do even before the 4 bars that you will never get anyway.
They dont want give us 4 bars, not because they are racist( that they are anyway) but just because there is a big complex of inferiority, here they are jelaous of everything, if you have a car, if u go out, if you know 3/4 languages.
So you are there just bcs they need you and as soon as they have enough national, once again the Turkish CAA, with a wizard boss will change the rules again.
As somebody said Istanbul is very expensive and the area around the airport , is not a nice place to live. If you wanna move a bit far, we dont have to forget the traffic and all the Formula one taksi drivers around. Well my advice is if you have no where to go come here, but u will leave soon anyway.
Iyi ucuslar
