Peanuts!

And in the same article: Tourism Australia signs Emirates deal worth 14,3 million!

And then, as part of the punishment:

Quote:
Justice Katzmann also ordered Emirates to restrain from engaging in similar conduct for five years
Emirates must be terrified! Don't mess with the Australians! You will be severly punished!

Didn't the bonus disappear the other morning along with a few bundles of poor quality lighting wiring?

Code shares, global 'alliances', bilateral agreements, capacity constraints, subsidies.
The airline business, historically, has been riddled with anti competitive price fixing.

I wonder if the person responsible will be given a verbal or written warning? Better still, maybe they should lose their staff travel privileges for 12 months or even better still, be demoted for 12 months and given another chance?

I wonder what they would do to an EK captain who caused 10 million in damage to the corporate profit?

C'mon Tim C. .....we all want to know what you'd do to such a person?

my question is:

how much extra profit did they (and all the other guilty parties)make with this price fixing??

My guess is it was way north of $10 mill.

I expect the victims of this price fixing will now have to contact the authorities to claim damages. hahahaha

I would think in this day and age we are all about root cause analysis. If 10 Major airlines including their own, have violated their regulations then surely this calls for some sort of a review.
