Thanks, I've read somewhere else that priority is given to Airbus and Boeing rated pilots.
I was given a slot for Madrid PSP but then I was put in standby......I hope they still give me a chance.....

I got invited for the PSP a month after applying, I was given a date, but then a few days before the tests I got uninvited.....It seems that they got a lot of CVs from people flying "common cockpit" and they neede my slot.
A month later I got a phone call from EK and my application went from "under review" to "shortlisted" again. And that's all I know until now....

Shortlisted since Jan/12, invited to the PSP in ATLANTA but received an e-mail stating there was no more availability 15 days after responding with my possible dates.. Got a call last week from an international dialer at 08h00UTC but couldnt answer it.(never received one in this number before). Someone else got a call ? Think they might be starting to call for interview in Dubai again this month, maybe it was really from them.
Currently flying 737NG 5000TT 3500 on type

Appears invites are going out for January interviews according to some friends of mine who have been shortlisted since April 2012.

Curiously, what is the usual time frame from interview to class date now that the backlog/pool has been drained somewhat? Also, are new hires really going into the 380?

From interview to class usually is 2, 3 months. It also depends on how much time you have to give to your present company.
I confirm new hires are going to the A380.

2 or 3 months from interview to starting is the 'normal' timeframe. It's changed now due to the DEC hiring, which led to the pool many of you are in. The pool is Darwinian in nature. You're selected out of the pool in order of your relative desirability, as assessed in the interview. Those who scored the highest have started or will soon start, lower scores are still waiting. The good news is that the lower scores are still good enough and it should only be a matter of time. I can also confirm new hires can go to the 380. Initially, only those with extensive airbus time, but I expect that will change soon enough. Good luck.

DEFO 380 most likely not until Jul. I don't think any of that is confirmed .

The only specific confirmation is that the invite email says they are recruiting for A380 and 777. It could be the case that there is no plans to schedule courses until summer still.

But for now only for type-rated people, right? A colleague, who seems to know some pilots in EK has told me that invitations for Non typed pilots will start in March, do you know anything?

Thanks guys!
