A380 DECs at Emirates

I hear they are considering offering the 380 to DECs. Those with considerable widebody and Airbus time. Interesting.

would need to be time on A340, as course is designed around it being base aircraft. Personally I doubt it, but what do I know

I hear they are considering changing the pay scales based on the MAX AUW of the equipment you fly.

Lowest to highest - 330, 777, 340, 380.

Good looking lure ex 380, will probably get a few hits: but bottom line is Fleet Pay is cheaper.

Financially it makes sense to get A380 DECs. You save a conversion...
but.... your most important asset will get XXX@%@#$...

Differential pay will never happen. It just taking from peter to give to paul... doesnt really affect the bottom line, unless they get really drastic. With more and more A380 coming that will only drive up the total salary expense.

That's why it is called a rumour network. We don't tak DE FOs on the 380 but would take CA. Nice trolling.

The last 380 Captain I met was averaging 45 hours a month, whereas every 777 Captain I have the pleasure of flying the worlds best aircraft with, flies 85+ and aren't we getting more 777s than 380s next year? I think this is a windup

I believe there's 8 or so more to arrive by year end... at least, they said the total should be 32 by Jan... there are 24 or 25 A380s now...

Nonsense - 380 skippers near 100 hours per month as canadansk rightly points out.
World's best aircraft. Yeah, 777 not bad, but I'd rather fly on 380 for damn sure

It's like with that fat chick, ey Whitey?
It's fun to ride her, but you don't want to be seen with .....

We'll see at the end of the year when 33/34 captains will be held back on their old metal, due to numbers, and T7 guys will transfer to the dugong.

If there's a run, you're damn right! If the applicants have numbers exceeding 390k and lot of us politely declined, you're not.

Apart from that 380 DECs don't make sense.

Scandi,

Care to share those delivery numbers? Think you may be mistaken about that too.

Good to see an optimist though.

Dust them off or carbon-date them?

WK

Age discrimination is a criminal offence in the UK so perhaps just as well you spend most of your time flying to the Indian sub continent in the middle of the night
